Wilson Ramos Out As Mets Seek Sweep
6 years agoNew York Mets starting catcher Wilson Ramos will get the day off as his current club seeks a three-game sweep of his former club to begin the season. The 31-year-old has recorded three hits in nine plate appearances thus far this season, recording two RBI as the Mets have won their first two games this year. Backup catcher Tomas Nido will get the start behind the plate and bat eighth with Zack Wheeler on the mound. Nido, 24, has made sporadic appearances for the Mets the past two seasons, hitting .181 with 12 RBI in 39 games.
