Wilmer Font Crushed on Wednesday
Wilmer Font was torched on Wednesday in a loss to the Washington Nationals. Font only lasted 2 1/3 innings, allowing five runs on six hits to go along with only two strikeouts. The newly-acquired right-hander should not be expected to be a long-term starting pitcher in the Mets rotation. In fact, with Steven Matz and Jason Vargas nearing their returns, it will most likely be Font who loses his spot for the foreseeable future.
