Willians Astudillo Continues To Hit
Willians Astudillo has only been in the majors for three games, but since being called up on June 29 the 26-year-old has done nothing but hit. The struggling Twins called up the versatile player after he’d spent nine years in the minors and so far, so good. In those three games, he’s batted .455 with three runs batted in. He also hasn’t struck out yet. All in all, Astudillo seems like someone worth putting on fantasy watch lists, especially considering he plays the ever-frustrating catcher position. And if the Twins continue to score, Astudillo’s value will continue to rise and he won’t last on the waiver wire. Those in two-catcher leagues should definitely scoop Astudillo up before he becomes a known commodity. He will face Junior Guerra and the Brewers on Tuesday.

Twins Release Willians Astudillo
Willians Astudillo is now a free agent after clearing release waivers, according to a tweet from Dustin Morse, of the Twins' Communications department. Astudillo hit .236 with a .259 on-base percentage and seven home runs in 216 plate appearances for the Twins last season. The 30-year-old saw time at catcher, third base, first base, second base, and in the outfield in parts of four seasons in Minnesota. All told, he's turned in an 86 wRC+ in 533 career plate appearances. The Twins' current catching options include Mitch Garver, Ryan Jeffers, and Ben Rortvedt.
