William Eklund Day-To-Day With Upper-Body Injury
6 months agoSan Jose Sharks forward William Eklund is considered day-to-day with an upper-body injury. Sharks head coach Ryan Warsofsky expects Eklund to recover in time for the team's regular-season opener on Oct. 10 versus St. Louis. Eklund will enter his sophomore campaign after having a decent run as a rookie. The 21-year-old registered 45 points (16 goals, 29 assists) in 80 games last season. Eklund has been competing for a first-line spot in training camp. The injury will be a setback for him, but he should still feature heavily in the Sharks attack this season, even in a lesser role.

William Eklund Scores Twice In Overtime Victory
5 months agoSan Jose Sharks left wing William Eklund provided two goals in Monday's 5-4 overtime win against Detroit. He squeezed a power-play marker between two Red Wings strikes in the first period and tied the game at two during even-strength play in the second. Eklund was highly efficient in front of the net, bagging his two goals with only three shots on goal. The Sharks have looked much better in recent weeks, and it's helped Eklund to heat up. He finds himself on a four-game point streak that consists of two goals and four assists. For the season overall, Eklund has registered 15 points (four goals, 11 assists) in 19 outings. He is well on his way to surpassing the 45 points he had during his rookie campaign last year.
