5 years agoSan Francisco Giants closer Will Smith picked up his 23rd save of the season in Sunday's 1-0 win over the Cardinals. Smith closed out the ninth inning, allowing one hit and no walks with no strikeouts. He has been a solid fantasy closer this season and now owns a 1.98 ERA with 53 strikeouts and no blown saves in 36 1/3 innings pitched. The only thing that could damage his fantasy value would be a trade to a team where he is no longer the closer. Smith's name has been floating around trade talks, but this is purely speculative.
