Why You Should Limit Your Exposure To Alex Bowman In DFS This Weekend At Nashville
5 months agoOn Saturday afternoon, Alex Bowman qualified 12th for the Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway. After mechanical issues caused him to finish 36th in last week's race at New Hampshire, Bowman is looking for a bounce-back performance in the Volunteer State. Given that he does have 10 top-10 finishes this year, which ties him with William Byron for the third most, the odds would suggest that he will have a strong outing Sunday afternoon in Nashville. While there is certainly a case to be made for the Hendrick Motorsports star given the consistency he has shown throughout 2024, there is also a case to be made against him given his history at this track. In his three starts at this venue, the 31-year-old has finished lower than he started all three times and is averaging just 11.82 DraftKings points in these contests. Because of how talented the 10-year Cup veteran is, you never want to fully fade him in any race, but it is also very hard to find an argument that would give you any confidence to play him this weekend. Even if you go beyond Nashville and you look at similar track types, the results are underwhelming. For example, on flat-banked tracks over the last two seasons, Bowman is averaging 25.89 DraftKings points (23rd most), while on concrete, he is averaging just 28.26 points (17th most). Between his struggles at this track and his lackluster results on similar track types, it is recommended that you limit your exposure to the No. 48 in DFS this weekend.
