Why You Should Fade Daniel Suarez In DFS This Weekend At Iowa
6 months agoDaniel Suarez will start 13th in Sunday's Iowa Corn 350 from Iowa Speedway. Entering the weekend, Suarez is a bit of a wild card, as there are some things to like and some things to dislike about him at this track. For starters, while this will be the inaugural Cup Series race in Newton, Iowa, the Trackhouse Racing star does have experience here. In his four Xfinity starts, the eight-year Cup veteran has two top-10s, an average finish of 14.5, and 110 laps led. On the other hand, the Monterrey, Mexico, native has not been very strong on short tracks in his Cup career, which Iowa Speedway certainly classifies as. In his 41 Cup starts on short tracks, Suarez has just seven top-10s, an overall average finish of 19.3, and just 25 laps led. Although we do not expect the 32-year-old to lose too much track position in Sunday's race, we also would not expect him to gain much ground. Assuming he finishes where he started, this would mean he would earn just 30 DraftKings points, which would put him below value at his $7,000 salary. Given his struggles on short tracks and the fact that he is unlikely to take advantage of the limited place differential that his starting position provides, it is recommended that you fade the No. 99 in DFS this weekend.
