The Chicago White Sox are reportedly unlikely to move first baseman Jose Abreu prior to the July 31 trade deadline. With the White Sox in full rebuild mode, it seemed likely that the team would want to add to their farm system by moving their All-Star first baseman. However, the team appears to be inclined to hold onto Abreu for reasons unknown. It has been reported in the past that the White Sox like Abreu for his Cuban connections to both second baseman Yoan Moncada and outfield prospect Luis Robert. Abreu is hitting .251 with 13 home runs and 52 RBI in 2018.--Dan Fappiano
