White Sox Talking Trade For Eduardo Escobar
4 years agoThe Chicago White Sox are looking for a replacement for second baseman Nick Madrigal and are engaged in trade talks with the Arizona Diamondbacks for infielder Eduardo Escobar, who is being shopped. Escobar is making $7.5 million in the final year of his contract with Arizona and is hitting .240 with 15 home runs, 45 RBI and a .743 OPS this season in 275 at-bats. The 32-year-old veteran infielder can play pretty much every infield position, but he'd obviously be used primarily at the keystone with the White Sox to replace Madrigal, who suffered a season-ending injury recently. With Arizona already so far back in the National League West standings, trading Escobar is the wise move this summer. Escobar isn't much of a fantasy asset outside of infield depth in NL-only leagues, but he'd certainly be an improvement over Danny Mendick, who has been starting at second base for the Pale Hose the last week.
