White Sox Receive Kodi Medeiros, Wilber Perez
6 years agoThe Chicago White Sox acquired pitchers Kodi Medeiros and Wilber Perez from the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday in exchange for relief pitcher Joakim Soria. Medeiros was Milwaukee's No. 13 prospect, according to MLB.com. The Hawaii native was a 12th overall pick in 2014 but has a unique arm slot and underwhelming control. The left-hander is 7-5 with a 3.14 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 107 strikeouts in 103 1/3 innings at Double-A this year. Perez is just 20 years old and has a nice 2.01 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 10.5 K/9 in eight starts in the Dominican Summer League. Medeiros is the more appealing talent, but it's unclear if he has the upside to remain a starter at the next level.
