White Sox Place Billy Hamilton On Injured List
4 years agoChicago White Sox outfielder Billy Hamilton (hamstring) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Thursday with a strained left hamstring. In a corresponding move, the team purchased the contract of outfielder Nick Williams. A leg injury for a player that is mostly relevant because of his speed is never a good thing, but hopefully Hamilton can return to the Pale Hose after his 10 days on the injured list are up. The 30-year-old speedster had three singles, an RBI and two steals in his first 11 at-bats of the 2021 season in six games before getting injured. He had been mostly filling in at left field on days that Andrew Vaughn didn't play. Williams and Leury Garcia can fill in as the fourth outfielder with Hamilton injured. Hamilton is worth stashing for his speed only in deep mixed and AL-only leagues.
