The Chicago White Sox seem optimistic that third baseman Yoan Monada's (groin) minor-league rehab assignment could be relatively quick. Moncada is going to start serving as the designated hitter before playing third base. Manager Pedro Grifol said Moncada is feeling good and the team is hoping to "push him a little bit," with hopes of a post All-Star-break return. The 29-year-old infielder started his rehab assignment in the Arizona Complex League on Tuesday after not playing at all for the previous three months due to a serious groin strain. While we wouldn't bank on Moncada being ready to come off the injured list for the start of the second half of the season late next week, he should be back with the White Sox by the end of July, barring a setback. When healthy, Moncada will settle back in as Chicago's starting third baseman.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
