What Should You Do With Chris Buescher At Nashville?
5 months agoChris Buescher will start ninth in Sunday's Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway. To put it kindly, Buescher has struggled at this track. Despite having an average starting position of 14.7 in the three Cup races here, his average finish is 28th. While it should be noted that he did wreck out in one of these races, it does not change the fact that he finished lower than where he started all three times and that he has only finished on the lead lap once. With this said, while he has certainly been a disappointment in Music City, he has been solid on similar track types in the Next Gen car. Since 2022, the RFK Racing star has averaged 48.30 DraftKings points on concrete tracks and 41. 25 on flat-banked tracks, performances that rank him eighth in both categories. Although these numbers are certainly a case against fading the 31-year-old, they are not strong enough to justify going all in on him either. Keep in mind he has a starting position that offers very little place differential upside, which means he would have to finish fifth to return value on his $8,300 DraftKings salary. Because of this, and because he has struggled at this track, it is recommended that you treat the No. 17 as nothing more than a pivot play from some of the more popular drivers on this slate.
