Redskins RB Recap Of Second Preseason Game
6 years agoThe Washington Redskins won their second preseason game Thursday 15-13. Their running game struggled outside of two big runs that accounted for 63 of the 97 yards gained on the ground. Chris Thompson did not play but still is presumed to have his pass-catching role secured barring injury. Rob Kelley rushed 7 times for only 17 yards but did record a catch for 13 yards which highlighted the talk that he had worked on his receiving in the offseason. Samaje Perine rushed once for 30 yards but left with an ankle sprain. Byron Marshall left with an injury after only two rushes for one yard. Both Perine and Marshall were said to be okay after the game. The likely result of the game was that while Marshall hurt his standing, Perine showed he was more explosive of the two competing lead-backs while Kelley displayed more of a workhorse effort with improved hands from last season.
