Wandy Peralta Injures His Groin On Tuesday Night
5 months agoSan Diego Padres left-handed reliever Wandy Peralta (groin) threw a pitch in the ninth inning in Tuesday's 8-3 loss to the visiting Seattle Mariners and immediately winced. It appeared to be a left-groin/hip injured based on his reaction, and he was forced to leave the game after allowing an earned run on one hit in just two-thirds of an inning. Just based on the way things looked, it would probably be a surprise if the 32-year-old veteran southpaw didn't land on the 15-day injured list heading into next week's All-Star break. The Dominican hurler definitely hasn't been as good as he was last year while pitching for the New York Yankees, as he came into Tuesday's contest with a 4.32 ERA (5.66 FIP) and 1.29 WHIP with only 20 strikeouts and 12 walks in 33 1/3 innings out of the Friars' bullpen
