Walker Lockett To Start Thursday
5 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Walker Lockett will be called up from Triple-A Syracuse to start against the Cubs on Thursday in place of Noah Syndergaard (hamstring), according to manager Mickey Callaway. Lockett was acquired from the Indians in the trade that sent catcher Kevin Plawecki to Cleveland. The 25-year-old righty is 0-1 with a 3.28 ERA in 24 2/3 innings in three starts and one relief outing for Syracuse this year. Lockett has only allowed four walks, but he also doesn't have much strikeout upside and is way too dangerous to use as a streamer against Chicago.
