9 months agoMinnesota Twins outfield prospect Walker Jenkins had two hits and drove in four runs for Single-A Fort Myers on Wednesday. The No. 1 overall prospect in the Twins' system is hitting just .233 in June for Fort Myers with one homer and 19 RBI. The productive game on Wednesday is a good sign for Jenkins, who is a premium outfield prospect. The 19-year-old has a powerful left-handed swing and is swift on the basepaths. Jenkins' progress this season was stalled by an early-season hamstring injury. He has had most of this month at Fort Myers to get back in the groove a bit. Look for big things from the youngster who is a name to file away in redraft leagues.--Brian Buckey - RotoBaller

1 month agoMinnesota Twins outfield prospect Walker Jenkins (ankle) suffered a mild ankle sprain. Jenkins sustained this injury when jumping for a ball. Dan Hayes of The Athletic noted that this injury is not serious and is just "1-to-2 weeks behind." Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status over the next week as he may begin to return to baseball activities in the coming days. Last season, Jenkins was only limited to 82 games of action as he dealt with a hamstring strain. Across 34 games with High-A, the former fifth overall pick in the 2023 MLB Draft held a .290/.382/.481 slash line with three home runs and eight stolen bases. However, in his brief taste of Double-A, Jenkins held a .160 AVG across six contests. Fantasy managers should expect the budding star to open the campaign with Double-A.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

7 months agoMinnesota Twins outfield prospect Walker Jenkins has been swinging a hot bat over the past week and is currently carrying a seven-game hitting streak at High-A. On Wednesday evening, the top prospect went 3-for-5 with a triple and a stolen base. Since joining High-A Cedar Rapids on July 29, the former fifth-overall pick has posted a strong .289/.352/.485 line with two home runs, nine doubles, 11 RBI, and five stolen bases. Earlier this season in his second look at Single-A, Jenkins posted a .273/.404/.413 line. The South Brunswick HS product currently sits as the fourth-best prospect in the sport on MLB.com and remains a coveted asset in dynasty leagues.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

7 months agoMinnesota Twins outfield prospect Walker Jenkins recorded his seventh multi-hit game this month for High-A Cedar Rapids with a 2-for-4 performance on Thursday. The 19-year-old is hitting .250/.318/.368 in 19 games since his promotion to High-A. With three different teams this season, Jenkins has totaled three homers and 47 RBI in 61 games. The No. 4 prospect in all of baseball, Jenkins is off to a good start to his professional career although he has been limited a bit this season by injuries. He has taken some time to adjust to High-A, but at 19 years old, that is to be expected. His ceiling is sky-high.--Brian Buckey - RotoBaller

8 months agoMinnesota Twins outfield prospect Walker Jenkins has been promoted to High-A Cedar Rapids after a strong showing at Single-A Fort Myers where he slashed .273/.404/.413. Among his achievements at Single-A was a 13-game hit streak and a superb 28:17 BB:K. The former first-round draft pick is ranked as the fifth-highest prospect in all of baseball per MLB.com so should already be rostered in dynasty leagues and could be knocking on the door to the big leagues at some point next season.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBaller
