Wade LeBlanc To Miss Some Time
6 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Wade LeBlanc (oblique) is likely to miss some time after he strained his right oblique in his start against the Astros on Friday. Manager Scott Servais acknowledged that Wade "probably won't make his next start, based on what happened tonight." The left-hander is going for an MRI exam on Saturday. The likeliest options to replace him in the rotation are top pitching prospect Justus Sheffield, who allowed two runs (one earned) in four innings in his start for Triple-A Tacoma on Friday. No. 9 prospect Erik Swanson is another option. Veteran Tommy Milone is a possibility if the M's prefer to wait on their youngsters. LeBlanc can be decent in the right matchups, but he doesn't whiff enough hitters to be a staple in mixed leagues. Those in AL-only leagues may want to speculate on either Sheffield or Swanson.
