Wade Davis Works Clean Inning
6 years agoThough it wasn't a save situation, Colorado Rockies closer Wade Davis came in to finish off the Phillies on Thursday. Davis has only pitched twice in the last six days since the Rockies have either eaten a loss or blown out the competition on most nights, but he looked like he was in good shape as he struck out two and stranded a runner after a single. Davis started the season a bit wild, but he'll hopefully settle down a bit more as the weather starts to warm up and he sees more regular usage. His strikeout rate is sky-high so far, so perhaps it's time for the old version of Davis to make another appearance and return to being one of the premier closers in the game.
