Wade Davis Gets Touched Up
7 years agoWade Davis, the new Colorado Rockies closer, made a couple of appearances this week and gave up a solo shot to Rangers prospect Drew Robinson. Davis wasn't being used in save situations or pressure spots, so it's not like he was truly in his element. However, all fantasy owners want their players to be on point at every opportunity, and with questions surrounding Davis' outlook, the home run wasn't a relaxing thing to see. Davis is coming off a successful 32-save showing for the Cubs last year, but concerns about his velocity loss of 2 mph over the last three seasons abound, especially when combined with his new unfriendly home confines. Davis still has plenty of potential to be one of the premiere closers in the game, but many a pitcher has succumbed to the penalty of the Denver air.
