Wade Davis Breaks Rockies Curse
5 years agoColorado Rockies closer Wade Davis got to watch three different teammates give up walk-off home runs during the team's three-game series in LA, but he took charge and finished off Monday's game without drama. Handed a two-run lead in the ninth in San Francisco, Davis took care of his three batters in order, drawing a pair of ground balls to finish it off. Davis recently went through a protracted four-game meltdown, but he seems to have bounced back from it, and he's now thrown two scoreless innings in a row. His walk rate remains sky-high at 6.82 per nine innings, so he is really riding a fine line, but he has gotten 10 saves on the season. If he falters, Scott Oberg would be his likely replacement.
