Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Won't Be Called Up This Weekend
6 years agoToronto Blue Jays third baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr., the top prospect in baseball, will not be called up to make his major league debut this weekend, so the earliest he'd be promoted to Toronto would be at some point during next week's homestand. He's hitting .412/.500/.824 with two home runs and six RBI in five games for Triple-A Buffalo and is healthy after straining his oblique in spring training. Guerrero has yet to play in three consecutive games, with inclement weather not making that any easier. It would seem at the earliest that Guerrero would join the Blue Jays on April 26 for the start of a three-game series at home against Oakland. Guerrero's bat should pay immediate dividends for those owners who have been holding him to begin the season.
