Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Leaves AFL Early
6 years agoToronto Blue Jays third baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr., baseball's top overall prospect, is leaving the Arizona Fall League early to tend to a family matter, according to sources. With just three games remaining, Guerrero will finish with a .351/.398/.446 slash line as the youngest player in the AFL. He didn't homer in Arizona, but he managed a career-high 20 dingers in the minors this year. The 19-year-old generates a ton of hard contact and hit safely in each of his first 13 games. Guerrero missed around six weeks in the minors this year with a strained patellar tendon. He should be up with the Blue Jays early in the 2019 season and has as much upside as any prospect in baseball.
