Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Homers Again Friday
4 years agoToronto Blue Jays corner infielder Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit his major league-tying 25th home run of the season on Friday in the team's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Baltimore Orioles. Guerrero is now tied with San Diego Padres star shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. for the major league lead in long balls after Tatis put on a show with a three-homer performance on Friday night. Guerrero went 2-for-5 at the plate in the game and is now hitting .340 with a ridiculous 1.116 OPS through the first 74 games of the season. The 22-year-old dropped weight in the offseason and is firmly in a breakout season after also becoming more disciplined at the plate. He's an easy must-start every time he takes the field.
