2 years agoAccording to a tweet from ESPN's Kiley McDaniel, the Pittsburgh Pirates reportedly have an agreement with right-hander Vince Velasquez. McDaniel tweeted the following on Tuesday: "Source: Free agent RHP Vince Velasquez has an agreement on a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Pirates." Velasquez appeared in 27 games for the Chicago White Sox last season, nine of which were starts. He pitched to a 4.78 ERA and a 4.25 FIP in 75.1 innings of work for the American League Central franchise while logging 69 strikeouts compared to just 25 walks.
