Victor Robles Out With Hip Issue
3 months agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Victor Robles (hip) is absent from Wednesday's lineup due to a hip issue as the M's look to avoid a three-game sweep at the hands of the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium. We'll consider Robles to be day-to-day for now until we know more about the severity of his hip injury. With Julio Rodriguez (ankle) still serving as the designated hitter, Luke Raley will start in center field and hit leadoff on Wednesday against Dodgers right-hander Jack Flaherty. If Robles' hip injury isn't all that serious, he could be back for Friday's series opener at home against the San Francisco Giants after having an additional day off on Thursday. The 27-year-old Dominican has been rejuvenated by a change of scenery since being traded to Seattle, hitting .280 (40-for-143) with three homers, 11 RBI and 14 steals in 50 games while also taking over center field duties since J-Rod's ankle injury. Rodriguez is expected to return to CF soon, though, which could make it more difficult for Robles to crack the lineup.
