2 years agoThe Washington Nationals placed outfielder Victor Robles (back) on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to May 7) with back spasms on Monday and recalled infielder Jake Alu from Triple-A Rochester in a corresponding move, according to president of baseball operations and general manager Mike Rizzo. Robles was initially hurt sliding on Saturday against the Diamondbacks, and now he'll miss some time. With the 25-year-old injured, both Alex Call and Stone Garrett should see more playing time in Washington's outfield. Robles is hitting .292 (26-for-89) with eight stolen bases, but he has no home runs and only eight RBI in 31 games. Alu, the club's No. 27 prospect per MLB Pipeline, should operate in a super-utility role for the Nats in the short term.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
