Victor Arano Closes Again For Phillies
6 years agoFor the second time in three games, Philadelphia Phillies manager Gabe Kapler went to Victor Arano to close out a victory. With the club up just one run against their inter-state rival Pittsburgh Pirates, the 23-year-old Mexican native came on and gave up a hit, but struck out two en route to his second save. Arano is being rewarded for his strong first half of the season, now boasting a 2.25 ERA in 29 appearances. This, of course, came after posting a 1.69 ERA in 10 games last season. While it appears Kapler will not go with a fixed closer, Arano may be worth a pickup if he records another save the next couple of days.
