Vaughn Grissom Has A Groin Strain, Unlikely For Opening Day
9 months agoBoston Red Sox second baseman Vaughn Grissom (groin) is dealing with a groin strain, and his status for Opening Day is in doubt, according to manager Alex Cora. Grissom had yet to make his spring debut as a result of a hamstring injury, but now he's dealing with this. Hopefully he won't miss much time if he does begin the season on the injured list, as the former 11th-round pick was set to be the Red Sox starting second baseman after coming over from the Braves in the offseason. He showed enough with his bat during his time in Atlanta that he will have fantasy relevance when he's on the field, and he won't cost a high draft pick.
