Colorado Avalanche right wing Valeri Nichushkin scored the game-winning goal in Wednesday's matchup with the Toronto Maple Leafs, recording an unassisted short-handed goal 6:40 into the third period. He also had a team-high five shots on goal in the 3-1 win. It seems like the Russian winger has finally found his scoring stick, as he has three goals and five points across the last seven games. He was sitting on just a single point before the good spell started. Nichushkin has some ability, but it's never quite worked out for him in the NHL. But at least he's currently reminding people that's he's still around. The Avalanche hit the ice again on Thursday in a favorable matchup against Montreal, who have allowed 4.45 goals per game in their last nine outings.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
