Tyrion Davis-Price Leads Eagles In Rushing
8 months agoPhiladelphia Eagles running back Tyrion Davis-Price took four carries for 28 yards and caught his lone target for no gain during the team's 14-13 win over the New England Patriots. The former San Francisco 49er did well with his touches but did not see playing time until late in the game and seems to be far behind Kenneth Gainwell and Will Shipley on the depth chart. The Eagles are looking to find their No. 4 back, and rookie Kendall Minton has been staving off Davis-Price for that final spot. The loser will likely land on the practice squad heading into the regular season. It will be interesting to see who gets in the game first during the Eagles' final preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings next Saturday.

Eagles Sign Tyrion Davis-Price To Futures Deal
1 year agoThe Philadelphia Eagles signed former San Francisco 49ers third-round running back Tyrion Davis-Price to a Reserve/Futures deal on Tuesday, according to his agency. Davis-Price was drafted in 2022 out of LSU but failed to make an impact in the Bay Area in his first two seasons in the league, carrying the ball just 40 times for 120 yards (3.0 yards per carry) and no touchdowns while failing to catch either of his two targets in just seven games played. The 23-year-old played in one game for the Niners last year, rushing the ball six times for 21 yards. In Philly, he'll provide RB depth behind Kenneth Gainwell. D'Andre Swift, Boston Scott and Rashaad Penny are all scheduled to hit free agency next month, so the Eagles' backfield could look considerably different this year.

49ers Waive Tyrion Davis-Price On Tuesday
1 year agoTo make room for new defensive back Logan Ryan, the San Francisco 49ers waived running back Tyrion Davis-Price on Tuesday. Davis-Price, the team's third-round pick in 2022, has played in just one game in 2023 after carrying the ball 34 times for 99 yards and no touchdowns in six games in his rookie season. His lone game for the Niners this year came in the Week 5 blowout win over the Dallas Cowboys. Davis-Price had six carries in that contest for 21 yards while playing just seven total offensive snaps. The 23-year-old running back will now look to latch on with another team as a depth option. Davis-Price was fourth on San Fran's RB depth behind Christian McCaffrey, Elijah Mitchell and Jordan Mason.

Tyrion Davis-Price Earns Roster Spot
2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Tyrion Davis-Price has earned himself a spot on the 53-man roster. The former third-round pick is coming off a disappointing rookie campaign. He rushed 34 times for 99 yards and was held without a touchdown in six games with the 49ers last season. He's expected to be a depth option alongside Jordan Mason (foot) in the backfield. The expectation is that Christian McCaffrey and Elijah Mitchell will take a majority of the snaps to begin the season. It's worth noting that the 49ers had plenty of injury problems in the backfield last season. That being said, Davis-Price might end up having a role if the backfield doesn't stay healthy. For now, Davis-Price can be ignored in fantasy formats with the starters healthy.

Tyrion Davis-Price Has Made Second-Year Leap
2 years agoThe Athletic's Matt Barrows writes that San Francisco 49ers running back Tyrion Davis-Price has made a big second-year leap heading into the 2023 season and put on 14 pounds in the offseason after being a third-round selection a year ago. Davis-Price has been quick and explosive and is a much better pass-catcher than he was as a rookie. However, he's behind Christian McCaffrey and Elijah Mitchell on the team's RB depth chart, and he might also be behind Jordan Mason. Barrows thinks Davis-Price is still worth a late-round fantasy selection because of how excellent a runner he is. Mason dominated playing time with the first-team offense in the team's preseason finale on Friday night, so the 22-year-old Davis-Price might be ticketed for the practice squad to begin the regular season.
