Tyler Rogers Pitches Two Innings, Earns Win Thursday
3 years agoSan Francisco Giants relief pitcher Tyler Rogers was at it again in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Diamondbacks, pitching two scoreless innings to pick up his seventh win of the season. The Giants were thrust into a surprise bullpen game after Scott Kazmir (hamstring) exited the game in the first inning with a hamstring strain. The Giants called upon Rogers to pitch the eighth inning with the game tied at 4. Rogers pitched a 1-2-3 eighth with a strikeout. He stayed on to pitch the ninth, allowing two singles but not allowing any runs. The Giants were able to walk it off in the bottom half of the inning, making Rogers the winning pitcher of record. The side-armer has done it all this season, compiling a 2.25 ERA with 29 holds and 13 saves. He has been a valuable fantasy pitcher in roto leagues throughout the season and should be a key arm out of the bullpen for the Giants in the playoffs.
