Tyler Reddick Struggles At Talladega But Leaves Above The Playoff Cut Line
1 month ago23XI Racing driver Tyler Reddick ended Sunday's YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway in 20th after struggling through tough race conditions. Starting from the 14th position, Reddick was quiet through the first stage but ran well. The No. 45 Toyota driver ascended through the pack and made it up to sixth by the end of the first stage, collecting stage points. In the second stage, Reddick tried competing for the lead against Chris Buescher but could not stay towards the front for long. After his green flag pit stop, Reddick raced inside the lead pack at the end of the second stage but was caught up in a wreck started between Alex Bowman and Ryan Blaney. Reddick fell short of stage points as he ended the second stage in the 12th position and received some damage. In the final stage, Reddick stayed out of trouble until the race's biggest crash on lap 184, where he was collected and received hefty damage. The No. 45 car was able to continue, but Reddick piloted it to place in 20th by the end of the race and finished as one of the last cars on the lead lap. Despite the tough day, Reddick holds a 14-point advantage in the playoffs over the cut line heading to the Charlotte Roval, one of his strongest tracks, with three top-10 finishes in four starts.
