Tyler O'Neill Turning A Corner In June?
2 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals outfielder Tyler O'Neill had a dreadful first two months of the 2022 season. Across 32 games in April and May, he slashed just .195/.256/.297 with two home runs and three stolen bases. However, since being activated from the injured list on June 7, he has been looking like a different player at the plate. Over nine games since his activation, he has hit .357/.367/.500 while compiling one home run, two stolen bases and six RBI. Unfortunately, his recent hot stretch hasn't come alongside the most impressive underlying metrics. He has a .254 xBA and an 87.5 mph average exit velocity this month. During his breakout 2021 campaign, he had a .279 xBA and a 93 mph average exit velocity. O'Neill's versatility and upside make him someone worth holding onto in all fantasy formats, but he still has some work to do in proving that 2021 wasn't the outlier season for him.
