Tyler O'Neill Getting A Breather On Saturday
4 months agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Tyler O'Neill will take a seat on the bench to start Saturday's contest versus the visiting Kansas City Royals in Game 2 of the series. O'Neill could use the day off after going hitless in eight at-bats with six strikeouts in his last two games. The 29-year-old Canadian outfielder has tailed off at the plate after a strong start in his first year with Boston and is now currently slashing .252/.349/.496, but he still has a strong .845 OPS with 16 home runs, 31 RBI and 49 runs scored. However, since June 19, he's gone 14-for-64 (.219) with a homer, four doubles, five RBI, two steals and 26 strikeouts in 17 games. Rob Refsnyder is in left field and will bat fifth on Saturday against Royals right-hander Seth Lugo. Refsnyder makes a lot of contact and is hitting .306 (48-for-157) on the year, but he lacks power and speed, making him a low-upside DFS sleeper option.
