Tyler Nevin Promoted From Triple-A Toledo
1 year agoDetroit Tigers infielder Tyler Nevin has been promoted from Triple-A Toledo ahead of Tuesday night's contest against the visiting Texas Rangers. The 26-year-old struggled in his go around with the big club this season as he hit just .091 with one homer and a .449 OPS in a rather small 27-plate-appearance sample. He's fared much better in Toledo, however, hitting .331 with two homers and an .864 across a much larger sample size of 142 trips to the plate. While he doesn't hit for a ton of power, Nevin has proven to be a well-above-average minor-league bat but hasn't seen that translate to the big leagues in 74 appearances at the game's highest level. Right-handed pitcher Braden Bristo was also brought up Tuesday while ace Eduardo Rodriguez hits the injured list with a finger injury.
