Tyler Myers Suspended For Three Games
2 months agoVancouver Canuck defenseman Tyler Myers has been suspended for three games. The 34-year-old was punished for cross-checking Edmonton defenseman Evan Bouchard to the head in Saturday's 3-2 win. As a result of the suspension, Myers will have to sit out Tuesday's clash with Buffalo, a rematch against the Oilers on Thursday, and Saturday's contest versus Washington. He is eligible to return to action on Jan. 27 against St. Louis. This is his third career suspension. The Canucks have called up Mark Friedman from the minors as a potential replacement for Myers. However, Noah Juulsen (undisclosed) is also an option. He has missed two games due to an undisclosed injury but is considered day-to-day.

Tyler Myers Will Play On Tuesday
6 months agoVancouver Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers (lower body) will play against Tampa Bay on Tuesday. He saw just 36 seconds of action in the previous game against Philadelphia due to a lower-body injury, but Myers has shaken off the ailment ahead of Tuesday's matchup. The towering blue-liner will skate in his usual spot on the second defensive pairing next to Carson Soucy. It should be a very busy night for Myers against a talented forwards group.

Tyler Myers Injured In Friday's Loss
6 months agoVancouver Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers exited Friday's 3-2 shootout loss against Philadelphia with a lower-body injury. He was involved in an awkward collision with Flyers forward Joel Farabee early in the first period and needed help to get off the ice. Myers couldn't put any weight on his right leg. Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet didn't have an update on Myers after the game. The 34-year-old is a big piece of the Canucks defense in more ways than one. Standing at six-foot-eight, Myers is an intimidating figure, but he occasionally helps out the offense as well. He tallied 29 points (five goals, 24 assists) in 77 games last season while racking up 136 blocks and 110 hits. Vincent Desharnais will likely enter the lineup if Myers lands on the shelf for the next game on Tuesday versus Tampa Bay.
