Tyler Locklear Demoted To Triple-A
4 months agoSeattle Mariners first base prospect Tyler Locklear was demoted to Triple-A after the Mariners acquired Justin Turner from the Toronto Blue Jays. Turner should be expected to split time at first base and serve as the designated hitter. Locklear is considered the sixth-best prospect in the Seattle system on MLB.com. The VCU product has gotten two brief stints at the major league level this season and held an overall .156/.224/.311 line with two home runs and one stolen base. The 23-year-old could get another look at the big league level in the stretch run as he has already held his own at the top level of the minors with a .264/.374/.455 slash line this summer.
