Tyler Huntley Has Left The Door Open For Josh Johnson
1 year agoBaltimore Ravens quarterback Tyler Huntley remains the favorite to win the backup job behind Lamar Jackson this summer, but he has left the door open for veteran Josh Johnson. Huntley struggled with consistency and turned the ball over too often during organized team activities and last week's mandatory minicamp. The Ravens wanted to upgrade at backup QB this offseason, and it's notable that Huntley is on the books for $2.6 million in 2023. If Baltimore isn't sold on Huntley as a clear upgrade over Johnson, the salary cap savings they could get from moving on from him could be attractive. The 25-year-old has plenty on the line at training camp next month. In 13 games (eight starts) over the last two years, he's completed 65.7% of his passes for 1,739 yards, five TDs and seven interceptions.
