Tyler Glasnow Goes On Injured List, Out 4-6 Weeks
6 years agoThe Tampa Bay Rays placed starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow (forearm) on the injured list with a mild forearm strain on Saturday and recalled infielder Andrew Velazquez from the minors in a corresponding move. Catcher Travis D'Arnaud was also activated and Nick Ciuffo was optioned. While Glasnow's injury is deemed minor, he's still expected to miss four to six weeks, which is a huge blow for the Rays and Glasnow's fantasy owners. The 25-year-old right-hander had been one of the best arms in the big leagues so far this year, going 6-1 with a 1.86 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 55 strikeouts in 48 1/3 innings in his eight starts. Let's hope he can avoid surgery in the long run.
