Tyler Gilbert, Reds Agree To Minors Pact
10 months agoThe Cincinnati Reds have signed left-hander Tyler Gilbert to a minor-league deal with an invite to big-league spring training. The 30-year-old appeared with the Arizona Diamondbacks in each of the last two seasons, working to a combined 4.32 ERA, 9.6% K-BB%, and 36.9% ground-ball rate in that time. Thirteen of his 28 appearances in the majors have been starts as he owns a 4.39 ERA across 67 2/3 innings as a starter and a 4.13 ERA across 24 frames out of the bullpen. However, all 11 of his MLB appearances last season came as a reliever as he posted a 5.19 ERA in 17 1/3 in the majors to pair with a 5.30 ERA across 30 outings (seven starts) with Triple-A Reno.
