Tyler Duffey Strikes Out The Side
4 years agoMinnesota Twins reliever Tyler Duffey worked the sixth inning and struck out the side in Wednesday's 3-0 win over the St. Louis Cardinals. Duffey has been great to start the season, tossing two scoreless innings with one hit allowed and five strikeouts. It's early on, but Duffey is keeping hitters off balance with his filthy curveball. As of Wednesday, he's throwing the pitch a career-high 46.2% of the time, and inducing a ridiculous 71.4% swing-and-miss rate on pitches outside the strike zone. Duffey likely won't be in line for many save chances this year, but he's again looking like one of the best relievers on the team, proving his 2019 season was no fluke.
