Toronto Maple Leafs forward Tyler Bertuzzi will not be available for Wednesday's game against the visiting Winnipeg Jets. The veteran will miss the contest while awaiting the birth of his child. It's been an inconsistent season for Bertuzzi, his first with the Maple Leafs. After signing a one-year, $4 million deal, the 28-year-old has just six goals, including just one goal over his last 26 games since Nov. 25, along with 20 points and 84 shots on goal across 45 games on the campaign. It's a far cry from the 30 goals and 62 points he posted across 68 games in his final season with the Red Wings in 2021-22 while he posted a decent 30 points between the Red Wings and Bruins a season ago. He has spent the bulk of the season skating with NHL goal-scoring leader Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner.--Brenton Kemp
