Tyler Allgeier Could Crack Double-Digit Attempts Against Carolina
1 month agoAtlanta Falcons running back Tyler Allgeier has yet to accumulate double-digit rush attempts in a game this season, but with Bijan Robinson popping up on Thursday's injury report with a hamstring injury, perhaps this is the week he helps spell Robinson a few extra snaps. The Falcons will square off with the Carolina Panthers in Week 6, a defense that has yielded a league-worst nine touchdowns on the ground through five weeks. In addition to Robinson's injury, albeit minor, Atlanta is favored by six points in this contest, so if the Falcons are playing with a lead late in the game, Allgeier could stand to benefit. The 24-year-old has shown in the past that he's a capable back, and with 5.4 yards per rush on average this season it shows he still is, but while he's a strong handcuff for Robinson managers, without more opportunities the BYU product is merely a low-end FLEX play this week.
