Ty France Struggles In First Career Postseason
2 years agoSeattle Mariners first baseman Ty France couldn't help his team get on the board in Saturday's 18-inning 1-0 loss against the Houston Astros in game three of the Division Series, eliminating the Mariners from the postseason. He went 1-for-7 with a single and two strikeouts. Across five playoff games, the 28-year-old slashed .231/.259/.269 with no home runs. The performance was after a solid regular season in which France hit .276 with 20 HRs, 65 runs, and 84 RBI, and he only struck out 15.3% of the time over 140 games. France will head into the offseason as the projected first baseman again for next season.
