4 years agoSan Diego Padres infielder Ty France is getting the start at designated hitter and batting fifth in the lineup on Monday against the Texas Rangers. The team's primary designated hitter this season, Tommy Pham (hamate bone), was placed on the Injured List on Monday with a broken hamate bone and figures to be out four-to-six weeks. France showed some promising power potential in the minors. He had an OPS of 1.247 over 76 games at Triple-A in 2019.
