6 years agoThe race to sign free-agent designated hitter Nelson Cruz is down to the Minnesota Twins and Tampa Bay Rays, according to a source. Cruz will have to serve as the full-time DH for either club, as he'll be turning 39 years old next summer and is a defensive liability in the outfield. Injuries will be a concern, but he has a better chance of staying healthy as the DH and has at least 37 home runs the last five seasons. Cruz can still hit for power and drive in runs, but that's about it.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
