Dylan Floro has not been cleared to face live hitters yet. The 34-year-old is expected to continue to throw bullpen and increase his workload throughout camp. Floro is behind schedule as he only joined the team on a minor-league contract last week. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his progression as he may be cleared to face live hitters in the coming weeks. Last season, the 34-year-old posted a 3.80 ERA with a 1.19 WHIP across 68 2/3 innings with the Washington Nationals and Arizona Diamondbacks. He tallied 48 punchouts but was able to limit hard contact as he generated a stellar 4.6 percent barrel rate. Floro could compete for a high leverage role in the Athletics bullpen when healthy.

Dylan Floro has agreed to an undisclosed deal with the Athletics and is in their clubhouse at spring training on Thursday. Floro will now compete for an Opening Day bullpen spot in Sacramento for the A's after pitching for the Washington Nationals and Arizona Diamondbacks in 2024. In 66 combined relief appearances for the two teams last year, he went 6-4 with a 3.80 ERA (3.50 FIP) and 1.19 WHIP with 48 strikeouts and 17 walks in 68 2/3 innings pitched. Floro was noticeably better with the Nats before being traded, sporting a 2.06 ERA in 51 outings out of the bullpen. He had a brutal 9.37 ERA in 16 1/3 innings over 15 appearances in the desert later in the year. At best, Floro will probably serve as a middle reliever for the A's in 2025, making him one to avoid in all fantasy formats.

Dylan Floro earlier this week. Floro has been released after passing through waivers unclaimed after the D-backs designated him for assignment on Sunday. The 33-year-old veteran began the year with the Washington Nationals and ended up making only 15 appearances in relief for Arizona. In his 16 1/3 innings for the Snakes, he was way too hittable, allowing 17 earned runs on 23 hits (four homers) while walking four and striking out only eight. Overall this year, he has posted a 3.80 ERA, a 1.19 WHIP and a 48:17 K:BB in his 68 2/3 innings out of the bullpen for the Nats and D-backs. Arizona acquired Floro at the trade deadline in late July from the Nationals, but he didn't work out as a relief arm for them. In Floro's nine-year MLB career, he has a 3.49 ERA, a 1.29 WHIP and 32 saves in 402 2/3 innings pitched.

Andres Chaparro back to the Nation's Capital. The 33-year-old right-hander has been rejuvenated during his first year in Washington, appearing in 51 games while pitching to a 2.06 ERA with 40 strikeouts. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect Floro to see any save situations; he has zero saves all year; however, going from the fourth-place Nats to an Arizona team that's only a half-game out of the third NL Wild Card spot should create more opportunities for holds in leagues that count them.
