Tucupita Marcano Enjoys Massive Night Monday
1 year agoPittsburgh Pirates second baseman Tucupita Marcano had a big night at the plate Monday as the Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Texas Rangers by a 6-4 final. Marcano went 2-for-3 with a home run, a walk, four RBI, and a stolen base on the night. It was the first multi-hit effort for the 23-year-old since back on April 30 while he had collected just two hits over his last three contests. For the season, Marcano is hitting .268 with two homers, two stolen bases, and a .787 OPS across 31 games while striking out in just 12% of his plate appearances. He should continue to see regular playing time given his production at the plate, even if his defense has been subpar to begin his big-league career.
