Troy Tulowitzki Has Low-Grade Calf Strain
6 years agoUpdating a previous report, New York Yankees shortstop Troy Tulowitzki suffered a low-grade left calf strain on Wednesday. "So that will almost certainly be an injured list," manager Aaron Boone said. The oft-injured 34-year-old is hurt already this season. That didn't take long. He had just two hits (one homer) in his 13 plate appearances, too, as he began the year filling in at the 6 for Didi Gregorius (elbow), who is expected to miss around half the season. Gleyber Torres will now slide over to shortstop, with Tyler Wade likely seeing most of the starts at the keystone. The left-handed hitting Wade hit just .167 with a homer and five RBI in 36 games in pinstripes last year. He'll be a candidate for those in deep mixed and AL-only leagues with the added playing time.
